According to the victim, eyewitness and party sources, the tourist Tuhin was beaten up at a residential hotel named ‘Blue Bird’ in the Kuakata tourist center on Monday midnight. At that time, Belal Hossain snatched 40,000 taka from him and demanded another 2 lakh taka as ransom. Tuhin was later locked in a room of the hotel. At that time, he called the national emergency service number 999 and requested to rescue him. On receiving the information, the police rescued Tuhin at around 3:30 am. At that time, four people including Belal were arrested from the scene. The other three are Shakib (24), Riaz (25) and Yusuf Howlader (27). Tuhin filed an extortion case as the plaintiff in the incident, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mahipur Police Station Tariqul Islam. He said that the case was sent to jail through the court by showing the arrest of Belal and his associates.

Regarding the expulsion order, Patuakhali District Jubo Dal President Monirul Islam said, “There will be no place for any miscreants in the Jubo Dal. If anyone acts against the party’s discipline, organizational action will be taken against him. An example of which is the expulsion of Belal Hossain.”
