Xentech is conducting a survey to provide Robi’s 5G technology services at Chittagong Port

A study is being conducted on the use of 5G technology in the operation of Chittagong Port. The study will be conducted for Robi Axiata by the mobile operator’s subsidiary company, Xentech. An agreement in this regard was signed between the Chittagong Authority and Xentech on Sunday. This information was given in a press release sent by Robi. It said that the agreement signing ceremony was held at the Chittagong Port Authority office. Under the agreement, Xentech will examine the feasibility of building a 5G-based private network for Chittagong Port. Areas of technical cooperation required to provide services such as monitoring the overall security management of the port, smart access controlling will be identified. In addition, the feasibility of automation of the port’s testing lab and smart operation of vehicles and gantry cranes will also be examined.

In this regard, Xentech’s MD and CEO Adil Hossain Noble said, “We are committed to providing Robi’s 5G-based services to various institutions in the country at the enterprise level. An agreement has been signed with Chittagong Port as part of this process. We hope that this 5G smart solution will play a role in increasing the efficiency of the port authority.’

The chief guest at the signing ceremony was Chowdhury Ashiq Mahmud Bin Harun, Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA). Also present at the ceremony were M Muniruzzaman, Chairman of Chittagong Port, Shahed Alam, Chief Corporate and Regulatory Officer of Robi, Md. Ashraful Kabir, Cluster Market Director, and Abul Kalam Mohammad Nazmul Islam, Chief Commercial Officer of Xentech.
