Volunteer Party leader expelled after extortion allegations in Jamalpur proved
A leader of the Volunteer Party has been expelled from Jamalpur on charges of extortion. This information was given in a notification signed by District Volunteer Party President (Acting) Nurul Momen and General Secretary Monowarul Islam at around 11:30 pm on Sunday.

The name of the expelled leader is Habibur Rahman (38). He is a resident of Shahpur area of Jamalpur city. He was a member of the Jamalpur city Volunteer Party. He was arrested by members of the joint forces from the Jamalpur Railway Station area late last Friday night along with 50,000 taka of extortion.
The notification mentioned that Habibur Rahman was expelled as per the instructions of the central parliament of the Volunteer Party for engaging in activities against party discipline and as specific allegations of extortion were proven.
District Volunteer Party President (Acting) Nurul Momen said that he was expelled after the allegations of extortion were found to be true. Anyone involved in such activities will be investigated and action will be taken against them.
Earlier, a local man named Mohammad Nazrul Islam had accused Habibur of extortion. Based on his complaint, members of the joint forces conducted a raid in the area on Friday night and arrested him. At that time, 50 thousand taka was seized from him. He was handed over to Sadar Police Station that night. Later, a case was filed against him at Sadar Police Station on Saturday morning. He was sent to jail through the court in that case.
