Uttara plane crash: 15 bodies received at CMH, 23 under treatment

Twenty-eight injured people have arrived at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka after a Bangladesh Air Force fighter jet crashed at the Milestone School and College building in the capital’s Uttara. Five of them have left for treatment. 23 are admitted. Six of them are burn patients.

CMH Commandant Brigadier General SM Solaiman gave this information at a press conference on Tuesday afternoon. He said that a medical team is coming from Singapore tonight to treat the injured. Brigadier General SM Solaiman said that a total of 15 bodies have arrived at CMH in this incident. 12 came from the scene. In addition, two bodies from Kurmitola General Hospital and one from Uttara Adhunik Hospital have been brought to CMH.

SM Solaiman said, ‘After the fighter jet crashed, eight bodies were initially brought to CMH from the scene. Later, three more bodies came from the scene. The pilot of the fighter jet was brought from the scene last. There was hope about the pilot. Various tests showed that there was no sign of life. It took 40 minutes. Later he was declared dead. “A medical team is coming to the country from Singapore at 10:40 pm tonight to treat the injured,” Brigadier General SM Solaiman said, adding that he came to know about this after talking to the Health Secretary and the Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor on Health. This team will go to the National Burn Institute. They will see the patients there. Before that, the patients will be sent to the National Burn Institute from CMH this afternoon.
