Indian-origin Zohraan Mamdani has made history in the US. He has been nominated for the post of mayor by a large margin in the Democratic Party primary of New York City. If elected, 33-year-old Mamdani will be New York’s youngest and first Muslim mayor. President Donald Trump has reacted strongly to his victory. In several posts, Trump has mocked Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani’s appearance, voice and intelligence, and has strongly criticized him as a “100% crazy communist.”
In a post on his own social media site Truth Social, Trump wrote, “Zohran Mamdani is a 100% crazy communist, and now he is on his way to becoming mayor after winning the Democratic primary. We have seen radical leftists before, but this has become ridiculous. He looks scary, has an annoying voice, and he doesn’t have much intelligence.”
In another post, Trump also mocked Democratic members of Congress who supported Zohran. In particular, he mocked House of Representatives member Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Trump also referred to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer as “our great Palestinian senator” and claimed, “Chuck Schumer, who is crying, is going after Zohran.”

If elected, 33-year-old Mamdani will be New York’s youngest and first Muslim mayor. President Donald Trump has reacted strongly to his victory. In several posts, Trump has mocked Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani’s appearance, voice and intelligence, and has strongly criticized him as a “100% crazy communist.”
