Judge Abdullah Al Mamun of Dhaka Special Judge Court-5 and Judge Md. Rabiul Alam of Dhaka Special Judge Court-4 issued the order on Thursday.
ACC Public Prosecutors Mir Ahmed Ali Salam and Sultan Mahmud confirmed this information to Prothom Alo.
The testimony of the case has been scheduled for August 11 and 13. The accused members of Sheikh Hasina’s family in the case are Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, daughter Saima Wazed Putul, sister Sheikh Rehana, Rehana’s daughter Tulip Siddique, Azmina Siddique and son Radwan Mujib Siddique (Bobby).
ACC Public Prosecutor (PP) Tariqul Islam told Prothom Alo that a hearing has been held to frame charges against ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 23 others, including 7 members of her family, in six separate cases of corruption in the allocation of plots in Purbachal. The ACC presented arguments in favor of framing charges in the court. After the hearing, the court ordered the framing of charges against Sheikh Hasina and others.
Earlier, on July 20, the case filed against Sheikh Hasina and 23 others, including 7 members of her family, in the case of corruption in the allocation of plots in Purbachal was transferred to this court.
ACC PP Mir Ahmed Ali Salam told Prothom Alo that recently, a notice was published in the newspaper for Sheikh Hasina and others to appear in court in six cases of corruption in the allocation of plots. Later, the Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge’s Court ordered the transfer of the cases to another court to try them.
In April, the court issued arrest warrants against Sheikh Hasina, her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, daughter Saima Wazed Putul, sister Sheikh Rehana, Rehana’s daughters Tulip Siddique, Azmina Siddique and son Radwan Mujib Siddique Bobby in three separate cases on charges of corruption in plot allocation.
The ACC recently submitted charge sheets against them in the court in three separate cases on charges of corruption in plot allocation. In addition to them, former State Minister for Public Works Sharif Ahmed and 16 other accused in the charge sheets are also accused in the three cases.
On December 26, 2024, the ACC began investigating the plots allocated in the names of Sheikh Hasina and her family. The ACC filed six cases against Sheikh Hasina and others on charges of irregularities in the allocation of plots in the Purbachal New City project.
On March 10, the ACC approved a chargesheet against Sheikh Hasina and her family members in six cases on charges of colluding to obtain a 60-katha plot in the Purbachal New Town project of the Capital Development Authority (RAJUK) through abuse of power and various irregularities.
