Some of these signs are now visible, the Chief Advisor said, “There will be more ahead. For this, we have to be more careful.” Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus made this statement about the elections at a meeting with leaders of seven political parties and Hefazat-e-Islam at the State Guest House Jamuna on Tuesday afternoon. After the meeting, the Chief Advisor’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam highlighted the discussions of the meeting in a briefing for journalists.

At the meeting, the Chief Advisor said, “The elections will be held in the first half of February. We will hand over power to the elected government.’ The Chief Advisor mentioned that this election will be an election to stand on our own feet and gain courage. In this context, he further said, ‘The election to run the country on our own soil. There should be no opportunity for any other country to slap its paws in this election.’ The Press Secretary said that the Chief Advisor told the political parties in the meeting that the election will be held in a joyful and festive atmosphere. Those who have never been able to vote before should be given a good experience in this election. Those who have faced bitter experiences while voting in the past should also be given a good experience. No one should be able to say that they were not allowed to vote.

The Chief Advisor warned the leaders of the political parties, stating that there will be obstacles at every stage in organizing this election. He said, ‘They will try to create conflict in everyone’s mind. Let us be correct, remain steadfast. Let us all cooperate together.’
