Because, last year, it rained only for one day in Ashadh. And this time it has been all day. Jahangir Shah, a former teacher at Rajshahi Collegiate School and founder of Shah Agricultural Information Library and Museum in Naogaon, regularly recorded weather information in Rajshahi. According to his calculations, it has rained every day since the first day of Ashadh. But there was not a single day of heavy rain. Last year, there was only one day of rain in the month of Ashadh. The previous year, there were only three days in 2023. There were four days in 2022, six days in 2021, and five days in 2020. He has been writing a weather diary for 13 years. During that time, he has not seen rain like this year.
The Rajshahi Meteorological Office says that last year, the highest temperature recorded in Ashadh was 39.6 degrees Celsius. The people of Rajshahi have had to endure such high heat throughout the month of Ashadh. Professor Azizul Haque, Head of the Department of Medicine at Rajshahi Medical College, said that the normal temperature inside the human body is 36.6 to 37 degrees Celsius. The temperature outside is unbearable for most people.
According to the Meteorological Office, the highest temperature on the 28th of Ashar this year was 35.5 degrees Celsius, which is lower than the normal temperature inside the human body. Not only that, the difference between the highest and lowest temperatures was small throughout the month.
