Yasmin Akhter was crying and holding her daughter on the floor of room 520 of the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute. Her 11-year-old daughter, Nur Jannat Yusha, a fifth-grade student, was burned in the crash of the Bangladesh Air Force training plane.

Yasmin Akhter told Prothom Alo, “My daughter’s forehead is burned, her face is burned, her head is cracked, her back is also burned. My daughter talked to me. The girl says, “Mom, everything is burning.””

As of 3:30 pm, 28 people have been admitted to the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute in the crash of the Bangladesh Air Force training plane in Uttara in the capital. Most of them are students. So far, two deaths have been reported.

A statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the plane took off at 1:06 pm on Monday. Later, it collapsed.

Meanwhile, relatives were trying to console Nasima Begum, who was lamenting in front of room number 520. Her son Rabiul Hasan Rohan is a seventh grade student. Rabiul’s body was burned in the crash of the Air Force training plane.

Nasima Begum was saying, ‘How did this happen? How many mothers’ hearts are empty. My Rohan is writhing in pain.’

Rohan’s father Md. Nizam Uddin told Prothom Alo that his son’s entire body was burned. His son is studying in seventh grade through English medium.
