Our position on Gopalganj has been clearly stated in yesterday’s statement. Our commitment to the whole of Bangladesh is also our commitment to Gopalganj. We oppose political discrimination against the residents of Gopalganj.

National Citizens Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam said that the flag of the July Uprising will fly in every house in Gopalganj.
Nahid Islam said this in a post on his verified Facebook page around noon today, Thursday.

Our position on Gopalganj was clearly stated in yesterday’s statement. Our commitment to the whole of Bangladesh is also our commitment to Gopalganj. We oppose political discrimination against the residents of Gopalganj.
We will free Gopalganj and the whole of Bangladesh from Mujibist terrorism and fascism. For ages, the Awami League has endangered the lives of the people of Gopalganj, corrupted the liberation war and done injustice to the followers of traditional religions. We have said that we will change this situation.
We did not take up the call for war. We had a pre-announced peaceful program. Mujibist terrorists carried out a planned armed attack on us with the intention of killing. Just like what happened in the July mass uprising. The Awami League always wants to create a civil war situation.
Even after so many massacres by the Awami League in the mass uprising, many people wanted to bring a ‘refined Awami League’ after August 5. They should remember that the Awami League is not a political party, it is a terrorist organization.
After August 5, we have been saying many times that we want justice for the July massacre through legal and judicial processes. But people from the Chhatra League and Awami League have not been arrested in large numbers. Even if they are arrested, they are getting bail in the court, they are fleeing from the police station.
At various levels of the administration, there are fascist allies and corrupt officials who can be bought with money. Leaders and activists of the banned organization Chhatra League from various parts of Bangladesh were in Gopalganj yesterday.
As instructed by the administration and security forces, we entered Gopalganj after getting security clearance despite the morning’s sabotage. We did not march, we only held a street meeting. Our people from various upazilas of Gopalganj were not allowed to come. Buses have been stopped at various places.
