The 2008 election was also rigged, it was decided who would be elected: Moin Khan

Moin Khan said these things at a discussion meeting and prayer meeting organized at the National Press Club auditorium in the capital on Saturday, ‘Remembering the immortal feats of the martyrs and injured on the occasion of the anniversary of the July-August mass uprising and the fall of fascism’. The event was organized under the banner of Dhaka College alumni.

At the event, Moin Khan said that the 11-11 government had a dishonest plan to depoliticize Bangladesh, although that plan later failed. An election was held in the country at that time. Which was promoted as a fair election not only in Bangladesh but also in the whole world including the United Nations. This senior BNP leader said, ‘Today I am forced to say that the 2008 election was not neutral at all. It was a planned election.’ He said that when the elections were held in December 2008, a few days before the election, the preliminary plan of who would be elected to where in the 300 seats of the parliament had been determined.

Moin Khan said that the government was established in Bangladesh through one-eleven in a planned manner. For the next 16 years, they destroyed Bangladesh. They completely destroyed Bangladesh politically, economically, culturally and religiously.

This member of the BNP standing committee said that the rule of the Awami League government ended after 16 long years in the July-August 2024 movement. During this movement, children, youth, workers and students were beaten and killed. However, this incident brought the people and student community of Bangladesh together.

At that time, Moin Khan said to the students, students have to study. Because students have a great responsibility. What is that great responsibility? The students who are today will be the directors of Bangladesh in the future. They will govern the country properly in the coming days and for that they will have to develop into proper citizens through proper education.

Referring to the interim government, the BNP leader said, “They have been working independently for a long year to transform the country into a democracy. The latest mention was of elections before Ramadan in February. We hope that the Election Commission will specify it through the schedule later.”

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Volunteer Affairs Secretary Mir Sarafat Ali, among others, spoke at the discussion meeting.

At the event, gifts were handed over to the families of the martyrs of the July-August mass uprising by the alumni of Dhaka College.
