Meeting of anti-discrimination student movement with chief advisor is unethical: Chhatra Dal general secretary

Desk report

Bangladesh Nationalist Chhatra Dal General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir said, a representative has been taken from an organization to meet the chief advisor. Representatives of all student organizations can meet the chief advisor. A single organization cannot represent all students. I strongly condemn the meeting with the representative of the anti-discrimination student movement without inviting all organizations.

Today, Tuesday, the General Secretary of the Central Chhatra Dal said these things at a human chain organized by Jagannath University Chhatra Dal on the occasion of International Human Rights Day.

Nasir Uddin Nasir said, representatives of the anti-discrimination student movement can definitely meet, but it will not be through any press note. We invited 28 organizations of the active student society for the meeting. But we did not invite the anti-discrimination student movement because they do not consider themselves a political student organization. We think that those of the anti-discrimination student movement who met the chief advisor as student representatives are unethical.

Bangladesh Nationalist Chhatra Dal General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir pointed to Shibir and said, “We strongly condemn various misleading campaigns being run on social media saying that we did not invite another organization. This student organization has done politics through secret alliances in the past. After the murderous organization Chhatra League was banned, they are now doing politics openly. That is why we did not invite them along with all the organizations.”

Chhatra Dal General Secretary Nasir also said that more than 100 leaders and activists of Chhatra Dal were killed in the mass uprising of the 24th that shook the world. Apart from that, no one has been able to show that so many leaders and activists of any other organization in the country have been shot. We have not forgotten Wasim, the first martyr of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal. More than 5,000 leaders and activists were arrested at that time. Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal believes that the movement led by Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman for 15 years has achieved its initial results on August 5. Before August 5, Chhatra Dal was the most persecuted organization. Three leaders and activists of Jagannath University are still missing.

He also said that the politics of Chhatra Dal will be conducted in the future according to the students’ decisions.

At that time, Nasir Uddin Nasir said, the interim government has not yet been able to arrest the top leaders of Awami League. We want to demand that all the leaders and activists of the murderers and banned organization Chhatra League should be brought under the law quickly.

During the human chain, Jagannath University Chhatra Dal President Asaduzzaman Aslam said, Awami fascists have created a mirror house in the country and are still keeping our brothers of Chhatra Dal, Russell, Rana, Al Amin, in a state of disappearance. Every mother’s cry is for their children back. Every Chhatra Dal colleague is crying to get them back. We will accelerate the struggle to get our missing colleagues back and continue the movement until our demands are met.

Central Chhatra Dal Vice President Kazi Zia Uddin Baset, Senior Vice President Ibrahim Kabir Mithu, Joint General Secretaries Mehedi Hasan Himel, Md. Mahmudul Hasan Khan and Organizing Secretary Shamsul Arefin, along with numerous leaders and activists of the branch Chhatra Dal, were also present in the human chain led by Jagannath University Chhatra Dal General Secretary Sujan Mollah.
