Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced a 17-member squad for the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh. Former captain Dasun Shanaka and all-rounder Chamika Karunaratne have returned to the team.
Series schedule
The first T20I of the series will be played on July 10 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, the second on July 13 in Dambulla and the third and final match on July 16 at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
Team changes
Dasun Shanaka is returning to the national team after a year, having last played in July 2024. Controversial cricketer Chamika Karunaratne has also returned to the team. Charit Asalanka will lead the team in this series.
Bhanuka Rajapaksa has been dropped from the team due to Shanaka’s return. He did not play well at all during the New Zealand tour, scoring only 14 runs in two matches. The 33-year-old left-handed batsman has been out of form since the 2022 T20 World Cup. He has scored only 67 runs in 8 innings, at an average of 11.16.
