Three eyewitnesses stationed in front of this center told Prothom Alo that after Chhatra Dal VP candidate Abidul Islam Khan arrived in front of the center with some leaders and activists at around 8 pm, the LED screen here suddenly went off. At around 8:30 pm, while the counting of votes was going on in Dhaka, Chhatra Dal VP candidate Abidul Islam Khan addressed the leaders and activists in front of the Dhaka University Teachers’ Club center. At that time, Shibir activists who had been stationed in front of the center tried to stop the Chhatra Dal leaders and activists, and a scuffle broke out between the two sides. At one stage, Chhatra Dal leaders and activists tried to enter inside. Later, when the LED screen was turned on again, they left in front of this center and went to the Dhaka University Teachers’ Club center next door.

Two eyewitnesses who were stationed in front of the center told Prothom Alo that Chhatra Dal leaders and activists suddenly came in front of the center and started chanting slogans like ‘vote thieves, vote thieves’. Later, Shibir leaders and activists who were stationed in front of the center got into a scuffle with Chhatra Dal leaders and activists. After a while, Chhatra Dal leaders and activists left in front of this center as well.

In this regard, Chhatra Dal’s GS candidate Sheikh Tanvir Bari Hamim told Prothom Alo that one of their agents informed them from the Dhaka University Teachers’ Club center that some ballots were being kept separate. The teachers say that those ballots were kept separate due to technical problems. But the Chhatra Dal agent believes that those ballots were voted in favor of Chhatra Dal candidates. So they went there to check the matter.

Students from Shamsunnahar Hall, Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall and Bangladesh-Kuwait Friendship Hall voted at these two centers – University Laboratory School and College and Dhaka University Teachers’ Club.

After the Chhatra Dal leaders and activists left, Shibir’s female leaders and activists and supporters of the independent panel are standing in front of the University Laboratory School and College center.
