Shakil Mondal (32) married for love 14 years ago. According to Shakil, he was having a difficult time with his wife. This Sunday morning, he suddenly received a divorce notice from his wife. Since then, he has been struggling with mental anguish. At one point, he bought a maund of milk from the market and took a bath with that milk.

The incident took place around 1 pm today. Shakil’s home is in Purba Madhnagar village in Naldanga upazila of Natore. He is a tea seller by profession. He has a tea shop in Madhnagar Bazar.
It was learned from talking to at least four neighbors that the couple lived on railway land in Purba Madhnagar. Since there was no father-in-law, the mother-in-law also lived in the same house. The wife worked as a laborer in a company.
According to Shakil, his wife often quarreled with him at the instigation of her mother-in-law. There was constant unrest in the family. Both wanted to end the relationship. But he could not decide who to divorce. Finally, his wife herself divorced him (Shakil Mondal). This morning, he was suffering from mental anguish after receiving the divorce notice. In such a situation, without telling anyone, he bought a maund of cow’s milk from the market and took a bath with that milk.
Shakeel’s wife said that there was no harmony in the family. Neither his mother nor anyone else is responsible for this. He himself took legal recourse to divorce. And Shakeel Mondal said, ‘At first, I felt very disturbed after receiving the divorce notice from my wife. Later, I found peace by taking a bath with milk.’
