On Tuesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on social media that Moscow had deliberately attacked a prison in the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia region of Ukraine. 16 people were killed. Russia must have known that civilians were in the prison. The Ukrainian Ministry of Justice said that the prison was attacked with four glide bombs. In addition to the deaths, 43 people were injured. However, there was no risk of prisoners escaping from the prison. A source said that 274 prisoners are serving sentences in the prison. However, there are no Russian prisoners of war.
The Ukrainian Air Force said Russia launched another 37 drones and two missiles into Ukraine on Monday night. It claimed to have intercepted 32 of them with air defense systems. One drone hit a hospital in the city of Kamianske in the Dnipropetrovsk region, injuring 22 people.
A pregnant woman was killed in the attack on the hospital, Zelensky said. Six more people were killed in a separate attack in the Kharkiv region. In addition, local authorities said Ukraine launched a drone attack in the Rostov region of Russia on Monday night, killing one person.
The Russia-Ukraine war has been going on since February 2022. Trump took office last January and tried to stop the war. He also spoke with Putin and Zelensky about this. However, no progress was made. In view of this, the US president gave Putin 50 days to stop the war a couple of weeks ago. He also threatened sanctions if this was not done. Then, last Monday, Trump gave Putin 10 to 12 days to stop the war. During a visit to Scotland, he said, “I really thought it (the war) was going to end. Every time I thought it was going to end, he (Putin) killed people. I don’t want to talk to him anymore.”
