Room occupied by BNP leader at Rajshahi University railway station sealed
The railway authorities have sealed the room at Rajshahi University Railway Station occupied by the Rajshahi Metropolitan BNP leader. A team from Rajshahi Western Railway arrived on Tuesday afternoon and sealed the room.

The room was occupied by Ekram Ali, president of the Motihar Police Station of Rajshahi Metropolitan BNP. Although the room was locked during the day, he would sit there with people for a month in the evening or at night.
On July 8, Prothom Alo published a news story online under the title ‘Rajshahi University Railway Station Room BNP Leader’s “Residence”’. After that, discussions and criticisms started on the social media Facebook about the matter.
Rajshahi University Railway Station is located in the Station Bazar area north of the university’s Suhrawardy Hall. Bangladesh Railway opened this station to facilitate the movement of university students. However, the station has been lying almost unused for a long time. Some local trains stop here. Several uprooted people spend the night at the station.
In this regard, Rajshahi Western Railway General Manager Farid Ahmed told Prothom Alo on Wednesday, “After the news was published, we investigated the matter on the spot. There we found the truth of the matter. Then yesterday we sent staff and sealed the room and made it under our control. The matter of who or what occupied it is still under investigation. Action will be taken if we know the details.”
