Robbery at home in Mirpur: 4 people, including two former army personnel, remanded
A court has granted seven-day remand for questioning of four people, including a former lieutenant and a corporal, in connection with a robbery at a house in the capital’s Mirpur DOHS area. The Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court issued the order on Monday afternoon following a police application. The people remanded are Lieutenant (retd) Arif Ahmed Firoz Iftekhar, Corporal Mukul Hossain, and Harun Or Rashid and Montashir Ahmed. The police produced them in court and requested a 10-day remand for questioning. The accused filed a bail application seeking the cancellation of the remand application. After hearing both sides, the court granted seven-day remand for questioning each of them.

A woman named Hosne Ara filed a robbery case against Lieutenant Iftekhar and four others at Pallabi Police Station in connection with the robbery. The police arrested them on Sunday.
In the case, the woman alleged that at around 2 pm yesterday, the accused, posing as an intelligence agency and the army, asked her to open the door of the house. They forced the door open and entered the house, saying that there were illegal weapons and drugs in the house. Later, they threatened her daughter and the maid and looted the goods and left.
The owner of the flat where the robbery took place is a retired major. After the incident, a car was seized after chasing the suspects.
According to the case information, the members of the robbery team took three heavy gold chains, a pair of stolen diamonds, an old laptop, four mobile phones and checks from various banks from the house.
