Rain increased across the country including Dhaka on Friday. Rain fell across the country yesterday except for a few areas in Rangpur division. Light rain fell in some places, very heavy rain fell in others, and moderate to heavy rain fell in others. This trend of increasing rain may continue today, Saturday as well.

The government’s Meteorological Department gave this information in its forecast yesterday evening. According to their information, the monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh. Today, light to moderate rain may fall in most places in Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions (76 to 100 percent of the areas) and in many places in Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions (51 to 75 percent of the areas). Temporary gusty winds may also blow during this time. Moderate to heavy rain may also fall in some places in the country. The temperature may drop slightly today due to the increase in rain.
According to the Meteorological Department, 4 millimeters of rain fell in Tentulia of Panchagarh from 6 pm on Thursday to 6 pm on Friday. Apart from this, there was no rain anywhere else in Rangpur division. Rain fell in all places in every division of the country yesterday except Rangpur. The highest rainfall was 162 millimeters, which was very heavy. Satkhira also received very heavy rainfall, 121 millimeters. Apart from this, 72 millimeters were recorded in Mongla, Bagerhat; 59 millimeters in Baghabari, Sirajganj and 45 millimeters in Tarash; 58 millimeters in Kutubdia, Cox’s Bazar and 57 millimeters in Teknaf; 50 millimeters in Jessore; 48 millimeters in Chuadanga and 44 millimeters in Khulna. Yesterday, 28 millimeters of rain fell in Dhaka. Yesterday, the highest temperature was 34 degrees Celsius. This temperature was in Rangpur, Dimla, Nilphamari and Sylhet. Yesterday, the lowest temperature was 23.9 degrees Celsius in Tangail. Yesterday, the lowest temperature in Dhaka was 25.6 degrees Celsius.
