Such an experience is rare for Bangladesh. In the last 10 years, Bangladesh has won only 1 series after losing the first in a three-match series. That too against South Africa in 2015.

Today, the Bangladesh team has an opportunity to take the number from one to two against Sri Lanka. Therefore, today’s third and final match of the ODI series is very important for Bangladesh. However, rain is making the eyes water in this match in Pallekele.

Weather forecast website AccuWeather said that there is a 65 percent chance of rain in Pallekele today. The weather in Pallekele will be warm and humid in the afternoon. The temperature will be around 32 degrees Celsius, but it will actually feel like 35 degrees. The sky is likely to be 70 percent cloudy today.

Rain has also had a major impact on the last 5 ODIs held in Pallekele. Of these, the third match in the last Sri Lanka-New Zealand series last November was abandoned. The second ODI match in that series was also held in Pallekele and the length of that match was reduced due to rain.

Earlier, Sri Lanka played a three-match ODI series against the West Indies last October. In all three matches of that series held in Pallekele, the overs had to be reduced due to rain.

The battle between bat and ball in Pallekele is quite intense. The average score in the first innings of an ODI is 242. The most important thing is that the teams chasing runs are relatively more successful here. This means that the wicket becomes easier for batting as time goes on.

There may be two changes in the Bangladesh XI today. Nazmul Hossain injured his thigh muscle while fielding in the second ODI in Colombo. If he is unable to play in the end, Mohammad Naeem may be seen in the team. Apart from this, there is one other change that is expected to be made – Taskin Ahmed will return to replace pacer Hasan Mahmud. The two teams are currently tied 1-1 in this three-match series.
