RAB arrests 4 including Pichi Shaheen in attempted murder case during anti-discrimination student protest

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested four accused, including Shaheen Kazi alias Picchi Shaheen (40), in a murder attempt case during the anti-discrimination student movement.

This information was given in a press release by RAB-2 on Friday. Later, Khan Asif Topu, Senior Assistant Director of RAB-2’s Media Wing, confirmed this information.

The remaining three accused arrested are Md. Guddu (38), Shafiqul Islam (48) and Md. Selim (32).

RAB says that there are cases against the arrested accused in Mohammadpur, Adabor and Tejgaon police stations. Khan Asif Topu, Senior Assistant Director of RAB-2’s Media Wing, told Prothom Alo that Shaheen was a Jubo League candidate. His real identity is that he is the former Mohammadpur Commissioner Rajib and an associate of terrorist Joseph. He tried to kill students during the movement. The remaining three accused also tried to kill students.

In a press release, RAB said that there are cases against Shahin and Selim at Mohammadpur Police Station, Guddu at Adabor Police Station and Shafiqul at Tejgaon Police Station on charges of attempting to kill students during the anti-discrimination student movement. They were under intelligence surveillance for many days. In continuation of this, they were arrested from Mohammadpur and Tejgaon Industrial Zone Police Station areas on Wednesday. During initial interrogation, the accused gave information about participating in various activities directly and indirectly to destabilize the government in recent times. Efforts are ongoing to arrest others after analyzing their information.
