On the occasion of World MSME (Micro, Small, Medium and Cottage Industries) Day, the private Prime Bank has honored seven entrepreneurs from across the country. The awards were presented to these entrepreneurs at a ceremony held at a hotel in Dhaka on Saturday.
More than a hundred entrepreneurs from different districts of the country, who are customers of Prime Bank, participated in the ceremony. In the presence of these entrepreneurs, the bank reiterated its commitment to entrepreneurship development. This information was given in a Prime Bank press release.
In the press release, Prime Bank said that out of more than 11,500 active borrowers of Prime Bank across the country, six SME entrepreneurs and one entrepreneur from the agricultural sector were given this special honor. These entrepreneurs were selected for the honor based on criteria such as product diversity, annual revenue, employment, relationship with Prime Bank, type of entrepreneur (male-female), type of enterprise (production, service, trading), etc.
Director of SME Department of Bangladesh Bank Naushad Mustafa was the chief guest at the honor ceremony. Deputy Managing Director of SME Foundation Md. Nazim Hasan Sattar presented the keynote speech. Prime Bank Chief Executive Officer Hasan O. Rashid, Deputy Managing Director M. Nazim A. Chowdhury and senior officials of the bank were also present at the ceremony.
Prime Bank Chief Executive Officer Hasan O. Rashid said at the ceremony, ‘SME sector is the driving force of the country’s economy. They create employment in the country, play a role in rural development and lay the foundation for a self-reliant Bangladesh. The development of this sector means the creation of a society of prosperity, stability and equal opportunities. Prime Bank has been working for a long time in the development and financing of the MSME sector. This recognition of entrepreneurs will make them more energetic and will play an important role in the sustainable development of the country.
