Practical marks of 25 madrasa students in Chandpur did not reach the board, all failed
This year, 25 students from the vocational branch of Majidiya Alia Madrasa participated in the examination. They took the written and practical examinations of all the subjects. The results of the SSC and equivalent examinations were published on July 10. It was seen that all 25 students failed. Later, the students found out by checking the results online that all of them failed in the ‘Industrial Attachment Training’ subject. This is because their practical marks did not reach the board.
The affected students Mostafa Kamal and Al-Amin said, ‘We participated in all the examinations. Shamsuddin Sir told us that we need to buy some materials for the practical examination of that subject. We paid as he said, but our marks were not sent to the board.
According to Majidiya Alia Madrasa sources, teacher Shamsuddin was responsible for sending the students’ practical marks for the ‘Industrial Attachment Training’ subject to the board. He said on Sunday, ‘I sent the practical marks on July 8. Later, I came to know that I did not receive the board marks. Today (yesterday) I myself went and submitted the marks. I hope that the revised results will come within a week.’ However, he denied the allegations of taking money from the students.
Madrasa principal Mufti Anwar Molla said, ‘We sent the marks on July 8. There may have been an error. I hope that the revised results will be published by next Thursday.’
Faridganj Upazila Secondary Education Officer Gausul Azam Patwari said, ‘The matter is very unusual. I do not know anything officially yet. Necessary action will be taken after an investigation.’
