One-quarter of government jobs vacant
A large number of government job posts are vacant. The latest data from the Ministry of Public Administration says that 468,220 posts are vacant out of the approved posts in government jobs, which is 24.40 percent of the total approved posts. That is, almost one-fourth is vacant.

The Ministry of Public Administration has released the Statistics of Government Employees-2024 on Monday. It says that currently there are 19,19,111 approved posts in government jobs. Out of these, 14,50,891 people are working.
