Bengaluru-based talent management company Square The One Private Limited has filed a case in the Delhi High Court against him for non-payment of dues of more than Rs 5 crore, Indian media outlet India Today reported. The case has been listed in the court and will be heard in the Delhi High Court tomorrow. It has been filed under Section 11 (6) of the Arbitration and Mediation Act, 1996. The complaint states that Nitish Reddy has breached the contract and caused financial loss to the company by not paying the amount as per the contract. Another Indian media outlet News 18 reported that Shiv Dhawan, director of Square The One Private Limited, has admitted to filing the case. However, he refused to comment further on the matter.

Nitish Reddy was associated with the organization for about three years. However, he terminated his contract with the organization during the last Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Earlier, he used to regularly participate in the organization’s social media campaigns. But his absence has been noticeable since last December. Due to injury, Nitish Reddy has been ruled out of the last two Tests of the England tour. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation after suffering an injury to his left knee. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said that Reddy has been sent back to the country for rehabilitation.

Nitish did not make it to the playing eleven in the first Test of the series at Headingley in Leeds. However, he played in the second and third Tests. Although he could not do well in the second Test at Edgbaston in Birmingham, he shone in the Lord’s Test. In the first innings, he dismissed England’s two openers Ben Duckett and Jack Crawley in one over. In the second innings, he dismissed Crawley again. He scored 30 and 13 runs with the bat. However, India lost the match by 22 runs.

Shardul Thakur is playing in place of Nitish in the fourth Test at Old Trafford in Manchester. The final day of the match is today. England are leading the five-match series 2-1.
