Modern warfare cannot be won with outdated weapons: Indian General Anil Chauhan
Anil Chauhan said this while addressing a workshop on drones in Delhi on Wednesday. He believes that India should reduce its dependence on foreign technology for conducting strategically important operations.
Chauhan said, “Reliance on imported technology weakens our preparedness.”
Referring to India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ operation in Pakistan last May, Chauhan claimed that Pakistan had deployed both unarmed and armed drones along the border. Most of them were destroyed. None of these drones could cause any damage to the Indian army or civilian infrastructure.
Noting the increasing importance of drones in modern warfare, Anil Chauhan said, “Recent wars have shown how drones can easily change the strategic balance. The use of drones is no longer just a possibility—it is a reality that we are seeing now.”
Chauhan believes that India should focus on developing drones and drone-destructive technology indigenously.
