Milestone plane crash: Shahin, Hasan, and Nasimra stand by Bangladesh in solidarity
The Pakistan cricket team has arrived in Bangladesh to play a three-match T20 series. The visitors have lost the first match by 7 wickets to Bangladesh on Sunday and have fallen behind in the series. Pakistan did not keep another pacer, Naseem Shah, in the T20 squad after he was considered for the ODIs. I pray for the victims and their families and all those affected by this devastating accident. May they find strength and peace in this difficult time.’
Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman, who scored 44 off 34 balls in the first T20, wrote on his X handle yesterday, ‘I am very saddened by today’s (yesterday’s) tragic incident in Dhaka. My prayers go out to the families who suffered from this incident and all those affected.’ Yesterday, former and current players of the Bangladesh cricket team also expressed their condolences over the accident. BCB has organized a recitation of the Holy Quran and prayer mahfil before the second match against Pakistan today. A minute’s silence will be observed before the match, cricketers from both teams will wear black armbands. In addition to keeping the national flag at half-mast, music will also be stopped on the field.
