At that time, this broker gang, including female members, was arrested from the hospital premises and various wards. They had been financially harming patients for a long time through various methods.

Intelligence sources said that after keeping them under intelligence surveillance for quite some time, a joint operation was conducted today. More than fifty brokers were arrested. After verifying the names, identities and overall information of all, a total of 33 people, both men and women, were sentenced to various terms of imprisonment, including a maximum of 3 months, and fined. Out of these, 19 are women and 14 are men. In this regard, the Director of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Brigadier General, said that some brokers in the hospital have taken up the job as a profession. Even after being caught red-handed in the act of brokering, they were released and stayed at this hospital. A few people live around the hospital. These few people come to the hospital and trade with patients. They were caught in raids before. They were punished and sent to jail in those raids. They came out and stayed at the hospital again and continued their brokering work, which shows that they have taken this brokering work as a profession. Our efforts to eliminate them are ongoing. The director further said, today, this raid was conducted in the hospital under the supervision of the army based on NSI intelligence information to eliminate these brokers. The hospital authorities are supporting this raid. Some of those arrested in the raid were selected and punished by the magistrates.

Action will be taken against them as per the rules.
