He took 15 wickets in 9 matches in the 2024 BPL and got a chance in the T20 series against Zimbabwe before the World Cup last year. Despite taking 8 wickets in 4 matches in that series, this pace bowling all-rounder did not make it to the World Cup team.
After that, a storm has swept over Saifuddin. Despite getting a chance in the ‘A’ team, he took a leave to be with his pregnant wife, and despite getting a chance in the Global T20 League in Canada, he could not go due to visa complications. Then he took a leave from cricket for two months due to mental depression.
However, Saifuddin could not do anything extraordinary when he returned to this year’s BPL. In addition to taking 12 wickets in 12 innings for Rangpur Riders, he scored 111 runs in 8 innings with the bat at a strike rate of 158.31. The BCB has returned Saifuddin to the Bangladesh team for the three-match T20 series on the tour of Sri Lanka.
