At least 92 people have been killed in the brutal Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip. The attacks took place from early Thursday morning until late at night. Meanwhile, the food crisis in Gaza has reached an extreme level. People there are desperately searching for food.

Of those killed since early yesterday, 64 were residents of Gaza City and the northern area. Another 16 were killed by Israeli army fire while waiting for aid near the Netzarim Corridor.

The Netzarim Corridor divides the northern and southern areas of Gaza. Hungry Palestinians gather there every day to collect aid from the controversial Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, which is backed by the US and Israel. The UN has condemned the foundation for using aid as a weapon of war.

Bassam Abu Shar, a witness to the Israeli attack on the aid distribution site, told the French news agency AFP: “People gathered there at night hoping to get food. At around 1am they (the Israeli army) started shooting at us. Then the bombing from tanks, planes and drones also started.”

Bassam Abu Shar added: “We couldn’t help anyone, we couldn’t even escape ourselves. The huge crowd made it impossible to escape during the Israeli attack.’

Netanyahu admits to supporting anti-Hamas armed groups in Gaza

In recent weeks, Israeli attacks on Palestinians trying to receive aid have increased. Many people have been killed.

Al-Jazeera’s Tareq Abu Azzoum, reporting from Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, said attacks on aid centers had become “a daily routine.”

Azzoum added that the people of Gaza are starving to death due to the border blockade that has been in place for more than three months. People there are deprived of all forms of humanitarian aid. As a result, they are forced to go to that specific center in the Netzarim corridor just for a sack of flour, a few bottles of water and some food. According to nutritionists, these are very low-nutritional foods.

Tarek Abu Azum said, the attacks are still ongoing. All humanitarian corridors have been turned into death pits.
