Initiative to train 900,000 youth to become skilled
The Department of Youth Development has started the work of including a total of 900,000 youth, including 500,000 young women among the youth who are not in employment or training, in economic and social activities by 2028. These trained youth will contribute to the country’s economic transformation and growth Initiative.
The Project Director of the Department of Youth Development said that the Earn project will enhance the skills of youth in work-oriented, suitable and environmentally friendly sectors, create long-term employment, and at the same time provide training and micro-credit assistance to develop them as entrepreneurs. Through these works, it will ensure the inclusion of a large number of youth, especially young women, in the economic and social activities of Bangladesh.

The Department of Youth Development said that it will provide alternative education and related skills to young people, especially young women, and enable them to participate directly in self-employment economic activities. The Earn project will establish direct connections between youth and employers and the labor market, create internship opportunities, and provide necessary financial assistance to new entrepreneurs to start any initiative.
Ensuring the participation of youth and their families, citizens and stakeholders in project planning, implementation and evaluation, which will play a supportive role in the inclusion of youth in economic and social activities.
