Initiative to issue Interpol red notices against four owners of three garment factories
Following the application of the Ministry of Labour and Employment to issue a red notice against the factory owners, a request for issuing a red notice has been sent to the Interpol authorities through a letter signed by the Additional Inspector General (NCB) of the Police Headquarters.
Thanking the Labour Advisor for taking strong action, the Principal Advisor’s Special Envoy for International Affairs Lutfe Siddiqui said that uncooperative or negligent behavior of factory owners regarding the fair rights of workers will not be tolerated. Such activities need to be punished.
It is learned that although several factories of the three accused companies have been closed, the workers’ arrears of wages and compensation are still pending. They had taken a loan from the government and paid a part of the workers’ dues. Now the government is not getting that money back either.
