‘I’ll wipe it out even faster,’ Trump threatens Iran again

US President Donald Trump has threatened to strike Iran again over its nuclear program. He has threatened to wipe out Iran‘s nuclear capability so quickly that it will be wiped out before anyone can lift a finger.

‘I’ll wipe it out even faster,’ Trump threatens Iran again

Trump made the threat at a press conference in Scotland on Monday. Tehran recently said that it would continue its nuclear enrichment program for civilian purposes.

The Trump administration had been negotiating with Tehran this year over Iran’s nuclear enrichment program. Those talks collapsed after Israel attacked Iran in June. Last week, ahead of talks with the UK, France and Germany, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi insisted that Iran had the right to enrich uranium.

In this regard, Trump said at a press conference in Scotland yesterday that Iran was sending a very bad signal, a very bad message.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer was also present at the press conference with Trump.

Trump also said, “They (Iran) should not have done this. We have wiped out their nuclear capability. They can start it again. If they do, we will destroy it before you lift a finger. We will do it happily — openly and without hesitation.’

Ahead of talks with the UK, France and Germany last week, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi insisted that Iran has the right to enrich uranium. Iranian officials described the talks as “important, open and detailed.”

I want to send a clear message to the “dictator” Khamenei: if you continue to threaten Israel, our long arm will grow stronger and reach Tehran again. This time, it will reach you personally.

Israel Katz, Israeli Defense Minister
This was Tehran’s first major diplomatic meeting with the West since the Israeli and US attacks on three major Iranian nuclear facilities last June. But the talks did not produce any significant progress or announcements of success.

Following Trump’s remarks yesterday, Araghchi said Iran would never respond to threats and intimidation. He reiterated that Iran needs to enrich uranium for medical and civilian reasons. If Iran is attacked again, Tehran will not hesitate to respond more strongly.

According to analysts, any Israeli attack on Iran would require US approval.

Speaking to Al Jazeera last week, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also said that Iran would not abandon its nuclear program. But he would keep the door open to talks. He also said that he was not very optimistic that the ceasefire that came after 12 days of conflict with Israel would last.

Israeli officials have signaled that they are planning another attack on Iran. This includes plans to remove the country’s leadership. Last Sunday, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said that he wanted to send a message to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. An Israeli newspaper quoted him as saying, “I want to send a clear message to the “dictator” Khamenei from here: if you continue to threaten Israel, our long arm will grow stronger and reach Tehran again. This time, it will reach you personally.”

According to analysts, any further Israeli attack on Iran would virtually require US approval.
