I hope the Chief Advisor’s announcement will be implemented on time: AZM Zahid

AZM Zahid Hossain said this while addressing the rally as the chief guest before the BNP’s victory procession at the Victoria College Road area of Kandir Par in Comilla Nagar on Wednesday afternoon. The procession was organized to commemorate the fall of Awami fascism on August 5 and the anniversary of the victory of the students and the public in the wake of the July mass uprising. AZM Zahid Hossain said, “BNP welcomes the decision made by the chief advisor yesterday, “The election will be held before Ramadan next February.” The announcement made after the London meeting of our leader Tarique Rahman and the chief advisor regarding the election deadline was reiterated by the chief advisor before the National Parliament yesterday. He will inform the Election Commission to hold the election by mid-February. The people of Bangladesh are waiting for the elections with full hopes. Because, in the last four elections, people could not exercise their right to vote properly. We hope that this announcement of the Chief Advisor will be implemented in due time in the coming days.’

The BNP leader said, ‘The announcements made by the Chief Advisor yesterday, we, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, applaud it in the larger interest of the nation despite many objections. The elected members of parliament will decide how Bangladesh will run in the future.’

Zahid Hossain also said, ‘Lakhs of unemployed youth in the country do not get any work. Because, during the past dictatorship, only those who have a party in their genes got work, business and jobs. They did not allow the people of the country to work in any field. Therefore, if discrimination is to be truly eliminated, then it is the moral responsibility of all of you and me to stand by those people for the goal for which people agitated for 16 years, who were martyred in July-August, if we have to repay the debt of their blood. This is what our acting chairman Tarique Rahman said.’

BNP’s Employment Affairs Secretary and Comilla South District Convener Zakaria Taher presided over the rally, and special guests included BNP Chairperson’s Advisor Amin-ur Rashid, BNP’s Comilla Divisional Organizing Secretary Md. Selim Bhuiyan, Comilla Metropolitan BNP President Udbatul Bari, Comilla South District Member Secretary Ashiqur Rahman, Metropolitan BNP General Secretary Yusuf Mollah, North District Member Secretary AFM Tarique Munshi, and others. The victory procession that came out after the rally started from Kandir Par, went through Manoharpur, Rajganj, Circuit House intersection in the city, passed through District School, and ended at Kandir Par.
