I have full confidence in the honesty of the interim government’s advisors: Mirza Fakhrul

In a statement to the media on Saturday night, the BNP Secretary General expressed this opinion on behalf of the party.

Mirza Fakhrul said, “Today, a report was published in a newspaper by quoting a former secretary (without mentioning his name) that he said that eight advisors are involved in corruption – such a report has come out.” The BNP Secretary General said, “I want to say, which is not ours. We (BNP) have nothing to do with this. We highly respect all the advisors of this interim government, including the chief advisor, and we trust them, we trust their integrity.’ Mirza Fakhrul, citing former secretary ABM Abdus Sattar in some newspapers, said that BNP has nothing to do with the statement about the 8 advisors.

The BNP Secretary General said, ‘I want to say clearly that the responsibility for that statement lies entirely with him. It has nothing to do with the party.’

Abdus Sattar, general secretary of the Officers’ Club and president of the Anti-Discrimination Employees’ Unity Forum, made this allegation at a seminar of the Bangladesh Administrative Association at the BIAM auditorium in the capital last Friday. He is an 82nd batch officer of the BCS administration cadre. However, he did not name the advisors.
