Hossain Khaled, the entrepreneur director of the private City Bank, has been elected as the chairman of the bank. He was elected at the meeting of the bank’s board of directors on Sunday. This information was given in a press release.

The release said that Hossain Khaled had previously served as the vice chairman of City Bank for seven years. He is a member of the executive committee and risk management committee of the board of directors. In addition, he is also serving as the chairman of the bank’s subsidiaries City Brokerage Limited and City Hong Kong Limited. Hossain Khaled had previously served as the elected president of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) for four terms. He was the co-chairman of the Bangladesh Better Business Forum and the founding president of the Entrepreneurs Organization (EO) Bangladesh Chapter.
Hossain Khaled completed his BBA in accounting from the University of Toledo, Ohio, USA, and his MBA in international banking from Texas A&M University, Texas.
Hossain Khaled is the son of Anwar Hossain, the founder of Anwar Group of Industries. Anwar Hossain was one of the principal entrepreneur directors of City Bank and was the chairman of the bank for four terms. Hossain Khaled is currently serving as the Group Managing Director of Anwar Group of Industries.
