‘Mujibul Haque is the legitimate Secretary General’
Meanwhile, shortly before the discharge, two senior leaders of the Jatiya Party, Anisul Islam Mahmud and Ruhul Amin Howladar, issued a statement opposing the appointment of Shamim Haider Patwari as the Secretary General, replacing the current Secretary General Md. Mujibul Haque (Chunnu). In the statement, they alleged that this appointment is extremely undemocratic, unconstitutional and a direct violation of the constitution. These two senior leaders of the Jatiya Party said that this is a manifestation of individual-centered arbitrariness, which has threatened the existence of the party.
