Euro Tour Story Part 5: A few days in Italy

We have to leave Iceland today. It’s a beautiful day. We packed our bags from Airbnb and walked to the bus station. On the way, we saw some beautiful buildings, with trees in their gardens. It’s quite rare to see trees in Iceland. Our bus left Reykjavik and arrived at the airport within an hour. At the small, tidy airport, we came across a live bakery looking for breakfast. All fresh food. Very expensive. Still, we had to eat, because we were hungry.

Euro Tour Story Part 5: A few days in Italy

My Dutch expatriate friend’s plane was leaving earlier, so he said goodbye and left, and we waited for the plane. The low-cost EasyJet would drop us off at Milan’s small Linate Airport. It’s quite a long way, and most of the passengers were Italian. Their clothes were shabby. We, two Bengalis, got lost among them. Our plane left at noon and arrived in Milan in the evening. By then, it was evening. We took an airport express bus to Milan and stayed at Airbnb for the night. We will stay only for the night. Our destination is Cinque Terre or the indescribably beautiful Panchgaon.

Tomorrow morning our intercity train will leave Milan for La Spezia. La Spezia is the gateway to Cinque Terre.

We reached La Spezia in about three hours by the early morning intercity train. It is easy to get around from La Spezia to Cinque Terre, because the villages are hilly and it is a matter of luck for tourists to find accommodation in these small villages. So we took a beautiful Airbnb near the railway station. So beautiful!

In the morning they gave us a coupon for breakfast. With the coupon, we had a delicious breakfast at a family restaurant in front. Italian food is really delicious. There are also Bengali brothers here. You will not be lost in Italy. Many local brothers live here in cities, towns and villages.

After breakfast, I bought a two-day rail pass for 10-12 euros. With this, we can travel around the villages as we please on the regional train for two days. We took the train from La Spezia to the first village, the name of the village is ‘Riomaggiore’. How beautiful. In the gentle morning sunlight, we felt like we had found heaven. We continued to discover the village while basking in the soft sun. We spent the afternoon wandering up and down the hilly paths, there was nothing in the local shops, starting from pizza, that we didn’t eat. I swallowed all three gelato or ice cream. Everything is cheaper in Iceland, the weather is wonderful. So today I became reckless.
