DUCSU appoints five student representatives to Senate in first executive meeting

The first executive meeting of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) has been held. Five student representatives of DUCSU have been appointed to the Senate in the first meeting.

DUCSU’s first executive meeting was held this Sunday morning in the meeting room adjacent to the Vice-Chancellor’s office of the university. DUCSU’s activities officially started through this meeting. Vice-Chancellor Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan presided over the meeting.

DUCSU’s newly elected Vice-President (VP) Abu Sadiq Kayem, General Secretary (GS) SM Farhad, Assistant General Secretary (AGS) Muha. Mohiuddin Khan, Liberation War and Democratic Movement Secretary Fatema Tasnim Juma, Student Transport Secretary Md. Asif Abdullah and 27 leaders were present in the meeting. Literature and Cultural Secretary Musaddiq Ali Ibne Mohammad was absent from the meeting. After the meeting, DUCSU GS SM Farhad briefed the students in the university’s Abdul Matin Virtual Classroom. He said that at the beginning of the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor greeted the elected representatives with flowers. They also greeted the Vice-Chancellor with flowers. After that, they got to know each other. The Vice-Chancellor, as the VP, acting treasurer and finally the president of DUCSU, addressed the meeting. The meeting discussed who would be the five student representatives and the treasurer of DUCSU in the Senate, which will be published in the Gazette soon.

SM Farhad said that from today, they have officially started working as student representatives. Regardless of the opinion of the elected representatives in DUCSU, they want to be the voice of the students by leaving everything behind. The elected representatives will prepare a complete plan of what they will do in the next one year, what they will do in which week, and they will get down to work in a short time.
