Consensus Commission to discuss reform proposals with experts

The National Consensus Commission will talk to experts in stages and, in that order, with political parties and alliances on the proposals or recommendations reached. The commission will also continue discussions on the ways to implement these proposals or recommendations, on the actions of political parties and alliances and the government.

This decision was made at a meeting of the commission members in the conference room of the National Consensus Commission office located in the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban today, Sunday. The decisions of the meeting were announced in a press release by the commission. The release said that the meeting reviewed the issues on which consensus was established in the first and second stage discussions with the political parties. In the meantime, most political parties and alliances have given their opinions on the initial draft of the ‘July National Charter 2025’. It was decided to urge those parties that have not yet responded to give their opinions quickly.

The meeting, chaired by National Consensus Commission Vice-Chairman Professor Ali Riaz, was attended by members of the commission Justice Md. Emdadul Haque, Iftekharuzzaman, Badiul Alam Majumder, Safar Raj Hossain, Md. Ayub Mia and Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor Monir Haider.
