Broadband internet package worth 700 taka will be reduced to 500 taka: ISPAB
ISPAB said in a press release that no ISP is now offering a 5 Mbps package. It is more or less an average of 10 Mbps. Accordingly, ISPAB is going to start the package from 500 taka.
ISPAB President Aminul Hakim said that he wants to see Bangladesh’s position in terms of internet services better. If the government withdraws the Social Responsibility Fund (SOF) and revenue share, then ISPs will be able to ensure 20 Mbps bandwidth to the customers in the future as per the definition of broadband. He also said that most customers do not want to pay 5 percent value added tax (VAT) along with the monthly bill, which they will collect and deposit in the state treasury.
