The bodies of two students who went missing after their boat capsized in the Brahmaputra River on their way to a madrasa have been recovered after about 22 hours. Their relatives recovered their bodies from the river in the Banshia area of ​​Pagla Tangab Union in Mymensingh, about two kilometers away from the scene, at around 7 am on Wednesday.

Earlier, on Tuesday morning, a boat capsized in the river near Kuthurighat in Dutterbazar, Gafargaon Upazila, Mymensingh. The body of one student was recovered that day. The three people live in Charfaradi Union of Pakundia.

UP Chairman Abdul Mannan said that this morning, relatives of the deceased students took a boat to search for Abir (7) and Zubayed (6), who went missing in the Brahmaputra River. At one stage, they saw the bodies of two people floating in the river in the Banshia area of ​​Tangab Union. Later, they rescued them and brought them to Pakundiya’s house.

Yesterday, around 9:30 am, three students went missing after their boat capsized in the Brahmaputra River on their way to the madrasa in the Dutterbazar area of ​​Mymensingh. At that time, the body of Shapla Akhter (14), daughter of Mainuddin of Char Algi village, a ninth-grade student, was recovered. Missing are Abir, son of Habib Mia, and Zubayed, son of Mumtaz Uddin of the same village. The three of them used to study at the Dakhil Madrasa on the banks of the Birui River.

According to eyewitnesses and local sources, yesterday morning, 9 students were crossing the Brahmaputra River in a small boat and going to the madrasa. When they reached the area adjacent to Dutter Bazar, the boat suddenly sank due to the current. Six of them managed to swim to shore, but three went missing.
