A statement issued by the Khulna BNP media cell on Monday night said that although a statement was issued on these demands on April 27, the KCC authorities have not carried out any responsible activities. BNP has expressed deep concern and anger, alleging that the Khulna City Corporation (KCC) is indifferent to providing citizen services. The party leaders have commented that the authorities are not completing the unfinished road work quickly, taking effective steps to control dengue and stopping the entry of illegal easy bikes due to their irresponsibility.
A statement issued by the Khulna BNP media cell on Monday night said that although a statement was issued on these demands on April 27, the KCC authorities have not carried out any responsible activities. Due to the lack of accountability of the City Corporation, most of the city’s roads are in poor condition and as a result, traffic jams have become a daily occurrence.
Yesterday’s statement makers were BNP National Executive Committee Student Affairs Secretary Rakibul Islam (Bokul), Information Secretary Azizul Bari Helal, Metropolitan BNP President Shafiqul Alam (Mona), District BNP Convener Moniruzzaman (Montu), Metropolitan BNP General Secretary Shafiqul Alam (Tuhin) and District BNP Senior Joint Convener Momrezul Islam.
The statement said that effective measures were demanded from the experience of the past years to eradicate deadly dengue before the monsoon season. The live flying of hundreds of mosquitoes within the smoke coils created by the fogger machine proves that the spray sprayed by KCC is not only ineffective in mosquito control, but also lacks honesty of the officials of the concerned department.
