BNP created the backdrop where Awami League has no name or target: Rumin Farhana

Highlighting the role of BNP in the mass uprising, the party’s international affairs associate secretary Rumin Farhana said, “Now the Awami League has no name or target. We created the background for that, BNP leaders and workers created it. We did all this under the guidance of Begum Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman. 400 of our leaders and workers were killed in the July-August mass uprising.”

Rumin Farhana said these things while speaking as the chief guest at a rally of BNP in Sarail Upazila of Brahmanbaria yesterday Friday evening. There, a black badge wearing and silent procession program was organized to mark the anniversary of the July-August mass uprising, mourning and victory. Earlier yesterday afternoon, the silent procession started from in front of Sarail Pilot Girls High School and ended at the upazila administration premises. Speakers addressed a rally there. Rumin Farhana said to the current government at the rally, “You are making a lot of excuses, don’t do it anymore. I hope that a free, fair and impartial election will be held in Bangladesh by next February. In this election, the BNP will form the government with the love of its leaders, workers and supporters.”

Referring to BNP as a party of the masses, this party leader said, “If you think you can keep BNP in check, then you are making the biggest mistake of your life. Sheikh Hasina couldn’t. She couldn’t keep us in our homes even with hundreds of disappearances, thousands of murders and millions of cases. So I will say it very clearly, return the power of people to vote to the people. The one whom the people vote for will form the government.”

Among others present at the rally were district BNP member and former general secretary of upazila BNP Anwar Hossain Master, Sarail Sadar UP chairman and former general secretary of upazila Chhatra Dal Abdul Jabbar.
