BNP also followed Awami fascism by vandalizing NCP stage: Islamic Movement
BNP has also followed Awami fascism by vandalizing the stage of the National Citizens Party (NCP) road meeting in Chakaria, Cox’s Bazar, said Maulana Gazi Ataur Rahman, joint secretary general and party spokesperson of Islami Andolan Bangladesh. Urging BNP to engage in positive politics, he said, “Don’t be intolerant, don’t be aggressive. People don’t want to see violent politics anymore after July.”
BNP also followed Awami fascism by vandalizing NCP stage: Islamic Movement
The party spokesperson said this in a statement sent to the media on Saturday night by the Islamic Andolan. Earlier, BNP and Chhatra Dal leaders and activists demolished the NCP road meeting stage set up at the Janata Shopping Center in Chakaria municipality at around 3:45 pm on charges of insulting BNP standing committee member Salahuddin Ahmed. Later, the army and police went and dispersed them.
Condemning the vandalization of the NCP stage, the Islamic Andolan said that a year has not yet passed since the July uprising. Meanwhile, the behavior of BNP leaders and activists is reminding the nation of Awami fascism once again. This is sad.
The statement further said that there will always be criticism in politics. But despite the repeated emergence of BNP’s involvement in nationwide terrorism and extortion, BNP is unable to take political criticism. They are considering their main leader as above criticism like Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, which clearly indicates a move towards dictatorship.
The spokesperson of the Islamic Movement said, “Awami League established a dictatorship by making Sheikh Mujib and Hasina sacred. And BNP has also made second-tier leaders like Salahuddin Ahmed sacred and attacked the NCP. This gives us a glimpse of a more ruthless dictatorship.”
