UPDF district organizer Angya Marma denied the shootout with the BGB patrol team. He told Prothom Alo that the BGB did not shoot with any leader or worker of their party. He alleged that false accusations are being made against the party’s leaders and activists due to the acceptance of UPDF at home and abroad.

When asked, Matiranga Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Taufiqur Rahman told Prothom Alo around 2:30 pm that he had no knowledge of this matter. If the police are informed, they will take necessary legal action as per the rules.
