The body of a four-year-old child named Nadia Islam has been recovered from Abhaynagar upazila of Jessore. Police recovered her body from a pond near Amtala Bazar in Siddipasha village of the upazila on Saturday afternoon.

Nadia Islam is the daughter of Rajib Ahmed of Siddipasha village of the upazila. Police believe she was murdered.
According to family sources, Nadia went missing from her home on Thursday morning. Despite extensive searches in various parts of the village, she could not be found. This afternoon, her body was found lying in a pond near Amtala Bazar, about a kilometer away from her home. Locals saw the body and informed the police. Police recovered the body around 5 pm.
Abdul Alim, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Abhaynagar Police Station, said the body has been sent to the Jessore General Hospital morgue for an autopsy. It is suspected that she may have been murdered. Legal action is underway in this regard.
