Babar Azam, Salman Aghader’s salaries are going to increase. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to increase the salaries of cricketers under central contracts by 37 percent in the 2024-25 financial year. The budget has already been approved by the PCB’s Board of Governors. The annual budget for cricketers has been set at 1,173.49 crore Pakistani rupees. This was reported by the Indian news agency PTI.

The number of players under central contracts is also increasing. Earlier, 25 people were under central contracts, which will now be increased to 30. However, the budget has been cut by about 34 percent in the case of domestic contracts. Previously, this budget was 68.40 crore rupees. It has been reduced by 45 crore rupees. A source who did not want to be named told PTI that the budget for domestic cricketers’ contracts has been reduced by about 34 percent.
The PCB central contract is increasing the number of women cricketers from 16 to 24. The budget for women in domestic cricket is also increasing, although the amount is not very much. A 4 percent additional allocation has been made in the domestic budget for women’s cricket. The allocation stands at Rs 3.72 crore. In addition, the PCB is taking responsibility for 12 first-class grounds itself. Rs 9.36 crore has been allocated for the preparation and maintenance of the pitches of these grounds. Another Rs 2,400 crore will be spent on the ongoing renovation work at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, the National Stadium in Karachi and the Rawalpindi Stadium. However, Rs 1,800 crore was spent for these three venues in the last fiscal year.
