Principal Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus has commented that the defeated forces are trying to sabotage the election by creating chaos. He has called on all anti-fascist forces to remain united to resist this evil attempt.

Principal Advisor Professor Yunus made this call at a meeting with leaders of 14 parties and alliances at the State Guest House Jamuna on Saturday afternoon. The Principal Advisor’s press wing reported this. The Principal Advisor said, ‘If all the forces of the uprising cannot hold a good election together, this great opportunity will be lost to us. Whenever the defeated forces get the opportunity, they are creating various kinds of chaos. By doing this, they are seriously disrupting the natural progress of the country.’

Professor Yunus said, ‘Whenever we are moving forward with preparations for the election, various conspiracies are coming to the fore. But the reality is that democratic progress cannot be hindered by any conspiracy. Because, the unity of all democratic forces on the issue of fascism is clear. The Chief Advisor expects the cooperation of all political parties to organize fair elections. The political leaders present also assured the Chief Advisor of all-out cooperation.

The meeting with the chief advisor was attended by Aminul Haque Tipu Biswas of the National People’s Front, Mustafa Jamal Haider of the 12-party alliance, Maulana Abdul Majed Athari of the Nejam-e-Islam Party, Maulana Yusuf Ashraf of the Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish, Fariduzzaman Farhad of the National People’s Party, Mushtaq Hossain of the Bangladesh Jasad, Bobby Hajjaj of the Nationalist Democratic Movement, Mufti Sakhawat Hossain Razi of the Islami Oikya Jote, Rafiqul Islam Bablu of the Bhashani Janashakti Party, Mostafizur Rahman Iran of the Bangladesh Labor Party, Masud Rana of the Bangladesh Samajtantrik Dal (Marxist) and Manjurul Islam Afendi of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam.

At the beginning of the meeting, a minute’s silence was observed and prayers were offered in memory of those who died in the warplane crash at Milestone School and College.
