A person injured in a clash over the construction of a mosque in Bera upazila of Pabna has died.

The man named Nizamuddin Molla (50) died on the way to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment on Monday night. Two people died in the incident. According to police, family and local sources, there had been a long-standing dispute between the two parties over the construction of a new mosque in Tarapur village of the upazila. On July 25, 30 people, including Nizamuddin Molla, were injured in a clash between the two parties over this. The injured Nizamuddin was admitted to Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College Hospital in Sirajganj. He was undergoing treatment in the ICU there. When his condition deteriorated, he died on the way to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital last night. He will be buried in the graveyard of Tarapur village after the autopsy.

Earlier, Hadis (40), who was injured in the clash on July 26, died at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogra.

Oliur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Bera Model Police Station, said that police are on alert in the area to avoid any untoward situation.
